Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time
Review by tigerman151
"The best Pokemon game outside of the main games!!"
Introduction -
This is my first review so bare with me on this. This game follows the storyline similar to the first one. Your character comes into the Pokemon world and doesn't remember anything except that they are Human. During the Game you must fight various bad guys and get your explorer ranking up as you go through the game.
Game play - 7.5/10
The game play does tend to get a little repetitive, but then again most every Pokemon game's, game play does get a little repetitive. This game does give you challenges here and there with many different dungeons and some even have restrictions on them, sending you back to level 1 for that dungeon! Each time you go back through the dungeon it is ALWAYS a different maze!!! The game play for this game simple deserves a 7.5 out of 10!!!
Story - 9/10
The storyline of this game just grabs you! It is so great that it would be worth playing through more then once. I don't want to spoil anything, but this storyline will reel you in. There are many twists and turns within this game and just when you thought it was over it is just getting started. When you finally get through with the credits, as with most Pokemon games, there is a end game storyline!! If there was an even longer storyline then this game would have gotten a perfect score for the storyline!!!
Graphics/Sound - 7.5/10
I am not one to judge the sound of a game, since I have the sound off most of the time, but when I do have the sound on it isn't that bad of music. Boss battle music is really catchy as well. As for the graphics, they are just basic and could use better graphics, but since we are talking about the NDS then these graphics are decent.
Final Recommendation -
In my opinion this game is worth the $35 you would have to pay to get it! It is a game you can play over and over again. This is one of the best games of Pokemon, beside the main RPG games!! The story continues to develop as you think it is just getting over. The Recruiting of Pokemon make this game even more fun, because you might think that they are EASY to recruit, but not all the time will a Pokemon join you! They added a couple new features to this game that the first didn't have. One of those a mini-game that makes you guess a Pokemon's footprint! Another addition are items that are exclusive to certain Pokemon. So if you don't have this game yet go out and buy before number 3 comes out!
