FAQ Bounty

Certain games have been released for weeks, months, and in some cases, years, without a full FAQ/Walkthrough for the game having been ever released for it. As more people request guides for these games, it shows that people are really clamoring for certain games to be covered. Now.

Each of the games listed below needs a full FAQ/Walkthrough (or other guide as listed), and we'll reward the first person to submit a full original guide for a game with an online gift certificate.

For action/adventure/RPG titles, a full beginning-to-end walkthrough to complete the game is required. For fighting and wrestling games, move lists for all normal and secret characters along with any additional secrets will fill the bounty. Racing titles need vehicle and course listings and strategies (driving tips, shortcuts, and so-on), while sports titles should give good in-depth strategy along with team and/or venue listings as appropriate.

Additional notes:
  • New entries may be added to the FAQ Bounty list at any time, and GameFAQs reserves the right to remove or change any entry without warning or notice.
  • By submitting a FAQ to GameFAQs, the author is still retaining ownership and control of the document, but is licensing the guide to be permanently available from the GameFAQs web site at no charge.
  • FAQs submitted for the contest must consist of 100% original content. No content may be copied directly from other sources, and if an outside source is used as a reference material, it must be clearly credited. GameFAQs has the right to declare any entry null and void if there is any valid suspicion of plagiarism or copyright infringement in the file.
  • Listings for the same game on multiple platforms are considered to be a single bounty; only a single prize will awarded for the winning FAQ.
  • In order to claim a filled bounty, visit the Contest Entry page.

GameFAQs FAQ Bounty Program

OFFICIAL GUIDELINES

Sponsored by: CNET Networks, Inc., 235 Second Street, San Francisco, California 94105 (referred to herein as “CNET” or “Sponsor”).

The GameFAQs FAQ Bounty Program is a program designed to reward users who submit video game FAQs and guides for specific games that do not have a full guide written. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter the Bounty Program.

This program is open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (except residents of Quebec) who are at least 13 years of age or older at the time of their entry. Employees of Sponsor, and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members and those living the same household, are not eligible to participate. Void in Quebec and outside the United States and Canada where prohibited by law. This program is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Entrants under the age of 18 or those who are considered minors in their state of residence must have their parent’s or guardian’s permission before entering.

To submit a claim, a FAQ must be submitted to GameFAQs for one of the listed Bounty games on this page: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/contest/bounty.php. The FAQ must be posted with a notation as a “Complete” guide, as determined by the GameFAQs editorial staff. Once the FAQ is posted as complete, the bounty may be claimed using the form located at http://www.gamefaqs.com/contribute/submit_entry.php. The editors’ decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Bounty Program. The guide must be posted and the claim entered by the expiration date listed on the bounty page. The first person to claim a bounty with an acceptable guide will be awarded an online gift certificate for the amount listed on the bounty page, and the bounty will expire at that point, with no further FAQs accepted for consideration of a bounty.

All submitted FAQs must be the original work of the entrant and must be exclusively owned by the entrant prior to entry. The FAQ must not have been submitted in any other competition or previously published. The FAQ must be in keeping with Sponsor’s image and may not be offensive, as determined by judges in their sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any FAQ at any time in the event it is determined that the entrant has not complied with these Official Guidelines. By claiming a bounty on a FAQ, the author is still retaining ownership and control of the document, but is permanently licensing the guide for display on GameFAQs and its partner sites at no charge.

To claim their reward, bounty winners must complete the Release sent to bounty winner by Sponsor within fifteen days of attempted notification. If a selected bounty winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible and/or fails to respond to return the Release within the designated time period, the reward will be forfeited and used for other games in the Bounty Program.

All international, federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the bounty winner. 1099 tax statements will be filed with the IRS for the winner of any bounty reward that has a value of $600 or more. Rewards will be awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Rewards cannot be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash, except by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Reward winners’ names can be obtained from Sponsor during the two (2) weeks after the expiration date of the bounty by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to GameFAQs Bounty Reward Program Winner’s List, [Bounty Name], c/o GameFAQs, 235 Second Street, San Francisco, CA 94105.

Neither Sponsor, nor its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, or the respective officers, directors, employees or agents of the forgoing (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are responsible for (i) any injury, losses or damages of any kind resulting from participation in this Bounty Program or acceptance, possession or use of the any reward prize; or (ii) any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any reward prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Bounty Program at any time. Released Parties assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, FAQ entries. Released Parties are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Bounty Program. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE BOUNTY PROGRAM IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CNET RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

By entering the Bounty Program, you agree and consent that any information you provide upon entering may be used by Sponsor in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available at http://www.cnet.com/html/aboutcnet/editorial/privacy.html?tag=ft.
