Xbox

"Microsoft's version of Nintendo. But it's better than Nintendo."

We all love Microsoft for their computers. Now they come up with the XBOX! The world would be a better place with a bunch of these! And it has. This is my favorite out of the Xbox, PS2 and Nintendo Gamecube. So if you are in the middle of a decision between all three of these systems, you might have a better chance at entertainment with the Xbox. This may not be the cheapest, but obviously worth buying.

The Xbox is sort of big and a little heavy. Not too heavy, I should say. Only one color: Black and Green. It doesn't matter. I like those dark colors. With the Xbox, you can simply save your money. You don't need memory cards. Since we are talking about Microsoft, this thing has a hard drive. You can save your games right into your Xbox. This hard drive has over 50,000 blocks of memory. But just so you know, you don't have to carry your Xbox everywhere you go to share data. There are some separate memory cards at the store.

We have 4 controller ports and we now need the controllers to go with them. There's an old Xbox controller that was pretty big until another one was released. The second one was smaller and it's button layout had a more comfortable layout. With two analog sticks, a D-PAD, A, X, Y, and B buttons, and two triggers, you are in for some really good entertainment with your hands feeling comfortable.

On the Xbox, there's an eject button and a power button. The power button just turns on the console while the EJECT button opens up a disc tray like a computer. Well, look! It's big enough for DVD's and music CDs! All Xbox games are as big as normal CDs are. The bad thing is that you need to BUY a special remote for your Xbox if you want to watch a DVD. That's not good.

If you don't have anything inserted inside your Xbox, you come up to the menu. You can get access to your memory, set the time, and a bunch of other stuff. If you have kids, you can set some parental controls to let certain games to be played or movies to be played. You can set your movie controls to all ratings or just PG-13 and under and so on. And you can set these kind of things for the games you play. Do you want to set it to rated M and under or just rated E? You can also set your network settings. Network settings?

When I say "Network", I mean "online". Yep. Some games were designed to be used online. Compete with others all over the world. Some extra content might even be available to be downloaded. This online network is called "XBOX LIVE". Look for it on the game cases to see if your game can be used online.

Do you have another Xbox and another T.V.? You can link two systems together for System Link game. Don't want to play online? Try using "System Link".

We now need some games to play. Everybody knows what Halo is. It's the best Xbox game that was released back when Xbox entered the world we know today. Xbox is also known for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and a whole bunch of others. If you want something, get it on Xbox. The games you can get are some of the best you can find. Halo 2 has been released recently and is now the best Xbox game ever. Xbox has a BIG arsenal of games. You will never play every one of them in one lifetime.

To make a long story short: Just buy this system if you want fun. Buy this system if you want action. Buy this system if you want to play online. Buy this system for just about anything you want to do. It's just the DVD thing that would make you disappointed.

FINAL WORDS: THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO GAME CONSOLE EVER!
