X2: Wolverine's Revenge

Review by Superjim

"Thank you God..."

'Did you see that? I got his spine to come out of his nose!' If your opinion of seeing this is 'ewwwww' then this game is not for you. If your opinion is 'How cool is that?!' then this game is what you're looking for! Sneak up on an enemy and make a Stealth kill, then move on to ruthless destruction! from Strikes to Wolverine saying 'Hey bub' This game will keep you glued to the screen.

Story 8/10

The story is simple. The people who gave Wolverine his claws have put a virus into Wolverine's nervous system, now it has gone lethal and will kill him in 48 hours. Now the race is one to find a cure before the virus kills Wolverine.

Graphics 10/10

No games graphics are perfect, but to Wolverine's Revenge, I can make an exception. The colour to this game is amazing, You can tell Activision really made an effort on this. No problems here chief.

Sound 10/10

The sound is perfect. When you hear Wolverine snapping a neck you feel like you're there watching him. I'ts so life like. And the voice acting is great with Patrick Stewart (guy who played Professor X in the movies) as Professor X again. And Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker) as Wolverine!

Gameplay 9/10

I was surprised that this gameplay would be any good. It's very rare for an X-men game to be so good. (Mutant Academy anyone?)

The game has an all new Strike system, which lets you execute cool killing moves in a press of a button. The Stealth Strikes are another thing, they're just Strikes with stealth (duh). And also the Senses. Press L2 to go into your mutant senses and see your footsteps, see security cameras and see where the enemy is because of their smell! Also, in the movies Wolverine has a healing factor. In this game you have one too! just retract your claws and watch your health go up.

There are all together six acts and a boss at the end of each act. The levels are challenging but sometimes hard. As are the bosses.

Replayability 9/10

There are also files you can collect throughout the game for Professor Xavier's super computer Cerebro. They are called the Cerebro Files. Each file gives you info on a character, all narrated by Patrick Stewart.

You can also collect costumes. These are throughout the game. If you go to the costumes section on the main menu. You can wear that costume.

Overall 10/10

Top score. love this game. X-men 2: Wolverine's revenge is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.
