Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits

Review by SquareEnix Teen

"Arc The Lad (4) Twilight of the Spirits"

INTRO:
Arc The Lad 1, Arc The Lad 2, and Arc The Lad 3 are some of my favorite games in the world. Just when I thought the saga was over BOOM! ATL 4 comes out. ATL 4 is Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. In this game you are in search of the 5 Great Spirit Stones, in your adventures you cover many obstacles some of them are pretty hard wich in my opinion was very cool -laugh out loud-.

Gameplay:
Arc The Lad is basically a turn-based game on a board. Like Final Fantasy Tactics. You are on a board type scenario, you get to move a certain amount of space (per turn) then you face a direction to attack your enemy or use and item and magic. But Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is 3-D and it has an amazing storyline. You may get frustrated with some battles (if you are a former RPG player you'll know what I mean) but you got to keep trying sometimes it's helpful to revisit some areas you've already been to to get some money, experience, skill points, spirit stones, and items. The thing I like is that you get to play with Kharg who is a Human and Darc (my man) who is half monster (I forget what they're really called, it's like Drakyr or something. There are alot of species of monsters but there are some that are like human, you'll find out when you play, if you play.) and half Human. It's just the thing that stinks is that right when the storyline gets really interesting it switches over to the other character. Then right when it gets really exiting with the new character it switches back to the other character. CONFUSED!? Well it's easier to just see it for yourself. I give this part of Arc The Lad : Twilight of the Spirits a 10/10

Story:
Like I said before this game you are in search of the 5 Great Spirit Stones. Along the way some tragic things happen to the main character's, they make new friends, and you get to see some pretty stinking cool action scenes. There is also a little secret about the story that you'll find out when you play it, hopefully you will anyways. So for story I give it a 10/10.

Graphics:
Oh my gosh, if you played ATL 1 and you loved it as much as I did even with the really really boring graphics you will absolutly positivly LOVE this game. The graphics are amazing, especailly when you fight a really hard boss or somethin you get to see the main character/character's finish the boss off in a cutscene when you get to hear the characters talk, don't you just love those times? The graphics really are amazing, at least if you DID play Arc The Lad 1, 2, and 3 you will enjoy the cutscenes in this one. So I give the Graphics in Arc The Lad: Twilight of the Spirits a 9/10

Playtime/Replaying
Well for me it took 102:28 hrs first and second time through. Now for you it may take longer since I'm a pretty experienced gamer, but some parts in the game were pretty hard so you might want to train your character before every boss battle. The second time through was just as fun but the difficulty changes from normal to expert, but I got alot of extras for playing through again. So I give this part 10/10

Sound:
Man the thing I love about this game is that the music is alot like how it was in Arc The Lad 1, but when you get into battle with monsters, Dilzweld Army, and humans you get to listen to the battle music that you heard in the first Arc The Lad, but this time its with a Electric Guitar.

Overall:
The over all score for this game is a 10 *the croud goes wild* it was definetly worth it for me, I paid $50 bucks for it. Now you could probably get it for $35 - $30 and you could get it used at a game store for like $25. So I think it was definetly worth it to play (and beat twice mwahahaha)
it.

Final Recommendation:
YES!!! Get this game it is so cool! If you like RPG's it's worth getting it, this game is honostly one of the best RPG's I've ever played and it's tied with my other favorites. So I really want you, the user to try this game out. If you have played and RPG game before you should try this one, it's not hard but sometimes it requires some thinking skills. Just remember to fight lots and lots and lots of monsters to get stuff needed for fighting boss battles. And if you ever need help just visit gamefaqs Playstation 2 section and read one of their many of FAQ's for free. Or you could just buy a Strategy Guide but I suggest getting. I recommended this game to all my friend's so now I'm recommending it to you. Well I hope you get it, if you do have fun.
