Cabela's African Safari
Review by Psycho_D
"A very good game. To buy or to rent."
Cabela's is a company that likes to create games for people that like to hunt really exotic animals like lions and elephants. Cabela's has been around for years and they are just getting better with every game that they come out with.
The game-play is really straight forward, you hunt some of the most exotic animals in Africa. In fact you will be hunting in six different locations in South Africa for these animals. You can select the difficulty from Easy to Hard modes. The controlling of the character is really easy, especially if you are way into First Person Shooter's and normal shooters like I am. And with the Panic and the Hunter Sense modes will make this game enjoyable to almost anyone.
Just to notify you, there is absolutely no story at all. It is straight out hunting from start to finish. So if you are looking for a game with a story then this is not for you.
The graphics are top notch, nothing that I as a Cabela's fan is expecting but to others that have never played a Cabela's they might be taken aback on how real the animals look. From the Elephants to the Lions and the wild-beasts, they all look so real.
The sound and music is good, all of the animals voices are real nice just as if you really their in Africa.
The total playtime that it took me to actually beat this game was around ten to fifteen hours. Not much now is it? But the experience that you get from those fifteen hours is unforgettable. Though I never did play it more then once through, this is a really good game(no puns) and with the multi-player competition through bird hunting this game can last for more then a few measly fifteen hours.
My final recommendation is that this is a good Rental for those that are not into Cabela's games. And a really good buy for those who like to hunt, or those who are low income that can't go hunting in a foreign land like Africa. Or even for those that just don't have the time to go to Africa, or any other place to hunt from straying from their jobs and getting fired.
