SWEET NO QUARTERS
Namco 50th anniversary is pretty much just a collection of arcade games put into a PS2 disc. But it is still fun to play the 80's arcade games without using any quarters (other than the quarters you use to buy this game). What this is a collection of games like Pac-man, Ms Pac-man, bosconia, rally-x and others. You get to keep your high scores and even reset the high scores so that you can start over again.
GAMEPLAY
10/10
The gameplay is 14 different games in which you can play. And you can unlock 2 arcade games by getting a certain amount of points by playing certain games. The controls are simple 1- 2 buttons is all you need to do in order to carryout an action. It is very fun to play these games because they only take a coupe of buttons so you can play the game fast with only hitting one button. The difficulty of the games are set by you, you can have the difficulty on a scale of 1-5 one being the easiest 5 being the hardest (no really). The controls are really, really simple one button or two buttons is what you pretty much do.
GRAPHICS
10/10
These games were made in the 80's for the arcade and they have really excellent graphics for their time period. The images of the characters and background have good sharp and clear images of the cars, people etc. And the games you unlock were made later so they had much better graphics than the others.
SOUND
10/10
The sounds was excellent they had the real sounds in Pole position when you turn quickly at 200 mph you hear the scrap sound as you would in real life. You get some pretty good music while playing the games like when you play Mappy you get some music as you play. When you die they have a sound like this Dududou oh something like that it sounds like it has some D's in it but anyways. In Rolling thunder there is a sound for every time that you shoot the gun and every time you get touched he shouts. Also in pole position you get to hear the humming sound of the car when you are driving at extreme speeds and you get to hear the shooting sound when you play Galaga.
PLAY TIME
10/10
You can play this anytime and replay anytime and keep trying to beat your record. If you really are bored you can reset your high scores and they go to default and you can set a new high score. If you want to spice some things up you can raise the difficulty to the max and try to play that way.
FINAL RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that you buy the game because there is no point in getting a high score and then not having the game to attempt to beat your high score so you kill yourself to rent the game again or just go buy it to ease your stress.
